[origin: EP0328897A2] The ski brake has two retractable brake mandrels, each having a brake paddle, and is arranged on a guide rail for a heel-holder, the guide rail being fixable to a ski, on the one hand, by screws and, on the other hand, by clamping claws which are fixed to the ski. In order to prevent damage to the upper ski edges in a ski brake of this type due to the brake paddles and to prevent the latter from jamming on the edges of the ski, provision is made for the clamping claws (5) to have guide surfaces (5d), at least over a partial region of their longitudinal extension, on which guide surfaces the brake paddles (3d) of the ski brake (3) can be guided at a right angle to the longitudinal axis of the ski (1). <IMAGE>
