[origin: EP0330803A2] The rotary lock cylinder has a cylinder core (3) and a housing (1), hardened spring-loaded housing pins (4) and core pins (5) being mounted in radially extending bores. By means of a key to be inserted into the key channel (8), the tumbler pins (4, 5) are arranged so as to allow the rotation of the cylinder core (3). The cylinder core (3) has, in bores (10), pins (11) made of hardened steel which extend in the longitudinal direction of the cylinder core (3). The pins (11) are so arranged that, when a screw is screwed in, it is guided on the pins (11) and the core pins and housing pins (5, 4) are thereby pressed into the cylinder housing (1) to the extent of a spring block. When the screw is rotated further, the thread flights on the hardened tumbler pins (5) are peeled off. As a result of this measure, the screw has no hold in the cylinder and therefore cannot tear the cylinder or pull the core (3). <IMAGE>
