The guide box (4) communicates with a barrel bore (2a) via an inlet opening (2b). Located diametrically opposite the inlet opening (2b) with respect to the barrel bore (2a) is a loading opening (2c) which permits the insertion of a nail strip (11) into the fastening tool.
