[origin: EP0331231A1] For the regeneration of ZrF4-containing pickling solutions by the addition of Na compounds, a process is proposed in which a batch of the pickling solution to be regenerated is analysed and heated, after which the amount of Na required for the regeneration is specifically determined and is mixed in with thorough stirring, and finally the mixture is cooled before the precipitated NaZrF compounds are separated off and a regenerated pickling solution is obtained. <IMAGE>
