[origin: EP0331901A2] In order to overcome valve play, a rocker arm (2) is supported on a rotationally fixed pivoting shaft (3) with the force-fitting intermediate connection of an eccentric disc (9) and a bush (14) which holds a radial stop (16) on the rotationally fixedly supported pivoting shaft (3) in a cut-out (15) with limited play, the eccentric disc (9) being connected to the pivoting shaft (3) via the spring (11) which acts in the circumferential direction. The eccentricity (e) of the eccentric disc (9) is selected such that, after contact between one of the edges (18) of the cut-out (15) and the stop (16) while the valve is being lifted in operation, a reduction in the transmission ratio of the rocker arm (2) occurs and, in contrast, once the valve has returned to its closed position and after the cessation of the transmission forces, pivoting of the eccentric disc (9) is produced by means of the spring (11) until the valve play is overcome. <IMAGE>
