In a reflector for dipped or dippable motor vehicle headlamps, whose reflection surface has an asymmetrical filler region, an upper region and a lower region, and whose reflection surface is constructed such that the desired light distribution is produced without a correcting lens, in order to match the light distribution in the horizontal and vertical regions perpendicular to the central axis of the headlamp as completely as possible to a desired light distribution, the shape of the reflection surface in the asymmetrical filler region is configured such that each filament image reflected at an arbitrary point of the reflection surface is positioned with one and the same point in the immediate vicinity of the, e.g., boundary line stipulated by the legislator. <IMAGE>

Bei einem Reflektor für abgeblendete oder abblendbare Kraftfahrzeugscheinwerfer, dessen Reflexionsfläche einen asymmetrischen Zwickelbereich (1), einen oberen Bereich (2) und einen unteren Bereich (3) aufweist und dessen Reflexionsfläche so ausgebildet ist, daß die gewünschte Lichtverteilung ohne korrigierende Lichtscheibe hergestellt ist, ist zur möglichst vollständigen Anpassung der Lichtverteilung im horizontalen und vertikalen Bereich senkrecht zur Mittelachse des Scheinwerfers an eine gewünschte Lichtverteilung der Flächenverlauf der Reflexionsfläche im asymmetrischen Zwickelbereich (1) derart gestaltet, daß jedes in einem beliebigen Punkt der Reflexionsfläche reflektierte Wendelbild mit ein und demselben Punkt in unmittelbarer Nähe der z. B. vom Gesetzgeber vorgegebenen Grenzlinie gelagert ist.
