The folding furniture has a joint connection which is mounted in the rear region of the seat and in which the end (2') of a beam of the seat and of the backrest (4') and in each case a rest support (6) come together and are held relative to one another via rotary connections. The joint connection consists of the following parts: - a hinge (9), in which the ends (2', 4') of the beams of the seat (2) and of the backrest (4) are connected to each other by a common axle (25) over an angle ( alpha ) of rotation covering an outermost and a folded-in position, - one of the ends (2', 4') of the beams bearing a joint head (10) and the other end of the beams bearing a joint socket (11) which are in mutual contact, - a slide block (14), which bears the rest support (6) and is connected to the hinge (9) both rotatably and displaceably, the slide block (14) being provided with at least one sliding journal (23; 24) which projects into the region taken up by the joint head (10) and joint socket (11), - with guiding cutouts (19, 20, 21, 22) in the joint head (10) and joint socket (11) which coincide on different surfaces depending on their rotational position relative to one another and form an adjustable guide for the sliding journal (23; 24) projecting into said guide. <IMAGE>

Klappmöbel mit einer Gelenkverbindung, die im hinteren Bereich des Sitzes angebracht ist und in der ein Holmende (2') des Sitzes, der Rückenlehne (4') und je eine Auflagenstütze (6) zusammenkommen und über Drehverbindungen zueinander gehalten sind. Die Gelenkverbindung besteht aus folgenden Teilen: - einem Scharnier (9), in dem die Holmenden (2', 4') des Sitzes (2) und der Rückenlehne (4) miteinander über einen eine äußerste und eine eingeklappte Stellung umfassenden Drehwinkel (α) mit einer gemeinsamen Achse (25) verbunden sind, - wobei eines der Holmenden (2', 4') einen Gelenkkopf (10) und das andere Holmende eine Gelenkpfanne (11) trägt, die sich gegenseitig kontaktieren, - einem Schiebeblock (14), der die Auflagenstütze (6) trägt und der sowohl drehbar als auch verschiebbar mit dem Scharnier (9) verbunden ist, wobei der Schiebeblock (14) mit wenigstens einem Gleitzapfen (23; 24) versehen ist, der in den von Gelenkkopf (10) und Gelenkpfanne (11) eingenommenen Bereich hineinragt, - mit Führungsausschnitten (19, 20, 21, 22) im Gelenkkopf (10) und Gelenkpfanne (11), die je nach Drehstellung zueinander verschiedenflächig koinzidieren und eine verstellbare Führung für den in diese Führung hineinragenden Gleitzapfen (23; 24) bilden.
