[origin: EP0332049A2] For bending hollow distance profiles (2), in particular those filled with a desiccant, preferably for panes of insulating glass, the profile (2) can be advanced during bending and a bending tool (4) can be moved towards and away from it, oscillating with respect to the abutment (3), the profile (2) expediently being advanced during the moving away of the bending tool (4) and a point on the profile (2) adjacent to the previously bent point being acted upon and bent during the next movement of the bending tool (4) towards the abutment. A very wide variety of arcs and radii of curvature can thereby be produced depending on the speed of advance of the profile and the bending frequency or also bending stroke of the bending tool. <IMAGE>
