[origin: JPH01275085A] PURPOSE: To enable an easy selection/switching between a plurality of operation modes by disposing a cassette at an entry region and disposing a tractor behind a printing unit in such a manner as to be regulated so as to move between a pusing and a pulling positions. CONSTITUTION: Releasable cassettes 14, 15 are disposed in an entry region, a tractor 48 is adapted to be regulated and moved between a pushing and a pulling position and is locaged behind a printing unit 23, and the tractor 48 is regulated and moved so as to be connected to another constituent element 22. The following various operatin modes can be selectively carried out: with the tractor 48 being held at the pushing position; a regular size paper fed from the front mannually or by automatic cassette infeed is transported along a straight transport path by driving rollers 28a, 29a, 30a; an endless paper fed from the rear is transported along a curved transport path by the tractor held in the pushing position and the driving rollers 29a, 30a; and an endless paper fed from the front is transprted along the straight transport path by the tractor held in the pulling position.
