[origin: EP0332422A2] A dampening fluid evaporator 70 for a lithographic printing press 10 which incorporates an elongated transverse-flow blower 80 which is mounted to be driven by a roller 45 in the inking system 20 through a system of pulleys 92, 96 and a belt 100. The speed of the fan in the blower 80 which delivers air for evaporating dampening fluid from the surface of the roller 45 is controlled by the speed of rotation of the roller 45.
