Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH0237959A] PURPOSE: To achieve the pouring of inert gas at considerably higher pressure than the fluid pressure of molten metal by providing a means making gas flow at the upper part of a molten metal pouring nozzle having partially gas permeability. CONSTITUTION: The molten metal pouring nozzle is constituted of a molten metal discharging hole or a sprue part 1 in the axial direction and a permeable part 2 made of a porous material and gas feeding means 3a, 3b. This molten metal pouring nozzle is used and the inert gas can be poured to the molten metal at considerably higher pressure than the fluid pressure. Therefore, the molten metal near the molten metal discharging hole 1 is stirred, the temp. of molten metal can be raised and scale formed at the time of carrying the molten metal is crushed by the action of the poured gas so that flowing out of the molten metal is facilitated.
