[origin: EP0333003A2] A resistor track (10) is arranged on a cylindrical wall (2) of a housing (1) in a rotary potentiometer. A rotor (17) can rotate about the cylinder axis (7) in this housing (1). In order to avoid the rotor (17) having to be axially pushed into the housing (1) during assembly, an opening (8) is formed on the circumference of the wall (2), through which the rotor (17) can be inserted in a radial direction with respect to the cylinder axis (7). The opening (8) can be closed with an insert (15). The rotor (17) is preferably supported thereon. <IMAGE>
