In a device for receiving essentially rectangular single sheets and for depositing the latter in an orderly manner in a container (14) which is arranged in a housing and has an inlet opening (34) which is connected by a transport path (18) for the serial conveyance of the single sheets with a feed opening of the housing, the inlet opening in at least one edge direction of the sheets is smaller than the corresponding dimensions of the sheets. At the end of the transport path (18, 24), in front of the inlet opening, is arranged a stacking device (26) with a stack-bearing surface (30) for forming a sheet stack in which the sheets lie upright on the stack-bearing surface (30), parallel to the inlet opening (34). To introduce the sheets into the container (14), a pushing device (48) is provided which can be adjusted in the direction of the inlet opening and by means of which a sheet stack formed on the stack-bearing surface (30) can be pushed through the inlet opening of the container (14), the sheet stack curving in the process. <IMAGE>

Bei einer Vorrichtung zur Entgegennahme von im wesentlichen rechteckigen Einzelblättern und zur geordneten Ablage derselben in einem Behälter (14), der in einem Gehäuse angeordnet ist und eine Einführöffnung (34) aufweist, die mit einer Eingabeöffnung des Gehäuses durch eine Transportbahn (18) für einen seriellen Transport der Einzelblätter verbunden ist, ist die Einführöffnung in mindestens einer Kantenrichtung der Blätter kleiner als die entsprechenden Abmessungen der Blätter. Am Ende der Transportbahn (18, 24) ist vor der Einführöffnung eine Stapelvorrichtung (26) mit einer Stapelauflagefläche (30) zur Bildung eines Blattstapels angeordnet, in dem die Blätter aufrecht auf der Stapelauflagefläche (30) und parallel zur Einführöffnung (34) stehen. Zum Einführen der Blätter in den Behälter (14) ist ein in Richtung auf die Einführöffnung verstellbarer Schieber (48) vorgesehen, mit dem ein auf der Stapelauflagefläche (30) gebildeter Blattstapel durch die Einführöffnung des Behälters (14) unter Krümmung des Blattstapels hindurchdrückbar ist.
