Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0333190A2] There is described a device for selectively feeding one of a plurality of weft threads (1) to a gripper projectile which moves along a track (2). The device has a plurality of slidable feeders (3), which each hold a weft thread (1) in readiness and have a feeder clamp (7) for holding this weft thread (1), a knife (4) for cutting off the weft thread (1) after it has been drawn by the gripper projectile into the warp thread, and a clamper for holding the weft thread (1) provided by one of the feeders (3) and for tensioning this weft thread (1) across the projectile track (2) until it has been gripped by the gripper projectile. The clamper is a rotatably mounted ring (6) which has a ring-shaped clamp (8) and which is arranged in such a way that the idealised extension of the projectile track passes through the ring (6). The ring clamp (8), in the course of its circular movement, tensions the weft thread (1) released by the feeder clamp (7) across the idealised extension of the projectile track (2). <IMAGE>
