Abstract (en)
A hydraulic fluid flow system for use in a system having large variations in the power demand, for example aircraft flap or slat systems, comprises: - a variable displacement motor (1); - means (6,8) to restrict the flow of fluid on the output side of the motor (1); and - a displacement control means (35) to adjust the displacement of the motor (1), which incorporates a motor torque sensing means. In operation the motor torque sensing means monitors the hydraulic fluid output pressure from the motor (1), and in response to variations in this the displacement control means (35) adjust the displacement of the motor.
