Abstract (en)
The subject of the invention is a device for manipulating, for stocking and for introducing a dummy bar for starting casting into a continuous metal-casting installation. The device according to the invention comprises an endless chain stretched between two return wheels (21) (21') mounted, respectively, below each end of the stocking track (16) and comprising an upper belt (17a) passing along the stocking track (16) and a lower return belt (17b) and a flexible link (15) for raising the manipulating hook (30) with the dummy bar (12), connected via its end opposite the hook (30) to a hooking point (18) on the endless chain (17), the latter being associated with a drive motor for raising and installing the dummy bar (12) on the stocking track (16) by winding up the flexible link along the upper belt (17a) then winding up the lower belt (17b) of the chain in step with the raising of the dummy bar (12) and its advance over the stocking track (16). The invention applies especially to the continuous casting of steel. <IMAGE>

L'invention a pour objet un dispositif de manutention, de stockage et d'introduction d'un mannequin de démarrage de la coulée dans une installation continue de métal. Le dispostiif selon l'invention comprend une chaîne sans fin tendue entre deux roues de renvoi (21) (21') montées respectivement au-dessous de chaque extrémité de la voie de stockage (16) et comportant un brin supérieur (17a) passant le long de la voie de stockage (16) et un brin inférieur de retour (17b) et un lien souple (15) de remontée du crochet de manutention (30) avec le mannequin (12), relié par son extrémité opposée au crochet (30) à un point d'accrochage (18) sur la chaîne sans fin (17), cette dernière étant associée à un moteur d'entraînement pour la remontée et la pose du mannequin (12) sur la voie de stockage (16) par enroulement du lien souple le long du brin supérieur (17a) puis du brin inférieur (17b) de la chaîne au fur et à mesure de la remontée du mannequin (12) et de son avancement sur la voie de stockage (16). L'invention s'applique spécialement à la coulée continue de l'acier.
