[origin: EP0333650A1] A fitted circuit breaker which switches off in the event of excess current, comprises a trip device, which acts on a switching mechanism, having a yoke (12), a core (14), a coil (18), a coil former (16), a moveable armature (28) and an armature spring (22) which returns the armature in the event of interruption of the heavy excess current. The movement of the armature (28) is transmitted via a first spring limb (26) of the armature spring (22), which is designed as a helical spring and is supported in a rotationally fixed manner on the other end by means of a second spring limb (36), directly onto a trip slide for operating the switching mechanism. The first spring limb (26), connected to the armature (28), has means for the direct transmission of the armature movement, at least in the direction of the core (14) of the electromagnetic trip device.
