[origin: EP0334101A1] In opening units for an open-end spinning machine it is possible, by means of fibre parallelisation segments inserted into the walls of the housing, to increase the quality of the spun yarn, since the fibres are attenuated and parallelised before entry into the spinning apparatus. If these parallelisation segments, however, are inserted as components into the walls, this results in edges and overhangs which lead to air eddies and where fibres can get trapped in the gaps. <??>According to the invention, therefore, the fibre parallelisation segment (15) forms part of the walls of the housing (1). The parallelisation elements (16) for parallelising the fibres (11) of the fibre parallelisation segment (15) protrude from a recess (A) in the wall of the housing (1). <IMAGE>
