[origin: EP0334179A2] The invention relates to a door lock, especially for motor vehicles, with a locking bolt or locking shackle arranged preferably on the vehicle body and with a lock case located on the door and having a pivotable latch which is engageable by means of a catch and which is pivotable into a release position by means of handles, levers and a linkage. The essence of the invention is that the bearing axle for the latch and the pivot axle for the catch are mounted in side plates, and that at least one intermediate piece serving at the same time as a retention bearing and having recesses is arranged between the side plates and together with these forms the lock case. <IMAGE>
