[origin: EP0334208A2] The discharge tube (1) of a reflector lamp with a metal halide filling is closely surrounded by a transparent tube (29) which is directed along the axis of the lamp and whose end (20) near the cap bears against the reflector (2) and whose end (30) remote from the cap is provided with a terminal part (28). Owing to the heat accumulation effect of the transparent tube, a colour temperature is achieved which is sufficiently low for the purpose of general illumination. <IMAGE>
