Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0334396A2] The lock system comprises a plurality of locks, first locks of which can be blocked by means of mechanical keys equipped on their key shank with mechanical locking codings which act on mechanical tumblers of the first locks, and second locks of which have bolts driven by electromotive drives, moveable into the second lock and moveable out of it, and electronic reading devices for electronic locking codings stored on electronic keys. The electronic keys contain an electronic memory and control circuit and have a key shank insertable into the reading device, the key shank carrying, for the transmission of the electronic locking coding, at least one first optical transmission element, assigned in the reading device a respective first optical receiving element, and, for optical energy transmission for supplying operating voltages to the memory and control circuit, at least one second optical receiving element assigned in the reading device at least one second optical transmission element. At least one of the keys has both mechanical and electronic locking codings for blocking at least one first and at least one second lock.
