Process for reducing scaling in plants for evaporating sulphite waste liquor from wood-cellulose pulp manufacture by treatment of the liquor with low-molecular-weight polyacrylic acids. In order virtually to prevent scaling and to increase the evaporation capacity an aqueous solution of low-molecular-weight polyacrylic acid is continuously added to the sulphite liquor at the initial stage of the multi-stage evaporation process and, in at least one subsequent stage of the multi-stage evaporation process, an aqueous solution of a copolymer of sulphonated styrene and maleic anhydride or an aqueous solution of low-molecular-weight polyacrylic acid is added. <IMAGE>

Um Ablagerungen in Anlagen zur Eindampfung von Sulfitablaugen zu unterbinden und die Eindampfkapazität zu erhöhen wird in der Eingangsstufe (8) der mehrstufigen Eindampfung kontinuierlich eine wäßrige Lösung von niedermolekularer Polyacrylsäure und mindestens in einer weiteren Stufe (9) der mehrstufigen Eindampfung eine wäßrige Lösung eines Copolymerisats aus sulfoniertem Styrol und Maleinsäurenhydrid oder eine wäßrige Lösung von niedermolekularer Polyacrylsäure der Sulfitablauge zugesetzt.
