The object of the invention is to provide a process for adjusting a bimetallic trip unit for electrical switchgears, which process provides a reliable result with a uniform number of adjustment steps. <??>By measuring the movement required on the tripping shaft (4) to release the latch and the force required for this purpose, a computer unit (R) determines a value for the initial setting of an adjusting screw (20). Subsequently, when the bimetallic strip (13) is heated as a function of the current, the time the bimetallic strip (13) takes until it touches the adjusting screw (20) and, furthermore, the overall tripping time, are determined. From these results, the computer unit (R) determines a correction value for controlling a screwing device (17), by means of which the adjusting screw (20) is set. An auxiliary device (25) comprises a contact slide (26) for integrating the adjusting screws (20) and the bimetallic strips (13) into a signal circuit and a drive device (30) for moving the contact slide (26). <??>The adjustment process is suitable for the bimetallic trip units of low-voltage power circuit-breakers, particularly of trip units which are intended for use in compact switchgears with dieletric material housings. <IMAGE>

Ziel der Erfindung ist die Schaffung eines Verfahrens zum Justieren von Bimetallauslösers für elektrische Schaltgeräte, das mit einer einheitlichen Anzahl von Justierschritten ein zuverlässiges Ergebnis erbringt. Durch die Messung des an der Auslösewelle (4) benötigten Weges bis zur Freigabe der Verklinkung und der hierzu benötigten Kraft ermittelt eine Recheneinheit (R) einen Wert für die Voreinstellung einer Justierschraube (20). Anschließend wird bei stromabhängiger Beheizung des Bimetallstreifens (13) dessen Laufzeit bis zur Berührung der Justierschraube (20) und ferner die gesamte Auslösezeit ermittelt. Die Recheneinheit (R) bestimmt hieraus einen Korrekturwert zur Steuerung eines Schraubers (17), durch den die Justierschraube (20) eingestellt wird. Eine Hilfsvorrichtung (25) umfaßt einen Kontaktschieber 26) zur Einbeziehung der Justierschrauben (20) und der Bimetallstreifen (13) in einen Signalstromkreis sowie eine Antriebsvorrichtung (30) zur Bewegung des Kontaktschiebers (26). Das Justierverfahren eignet sich für die Bimetallauslöser von Niederspannungs-Leistungsschaltern, insbesondere von Auslöseeinheiten, die für den Einsatz in kompakten Schaltgeräten mit Isolierstoffgehäuse vorgesehen sind.
