Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH01274806A] PURPOSE: To exhibit a foam suppression effect and deaeration effect which are good and constant by incorporating an ester of an aliphat. carboxylic acid and aliphat. alcohol, an amide and a nonionic surfactant into a foam suppressant. CONSTITUTION: The ester of the aliphat. carboxylic acid, such as methyl laurate, having at least 150 deg.C b.p. and the aliphat. alcohol is used as the foam suppressant to be used in a production stage in textile industry or the like. The amide, such as methylene-bis-stearic acid amide of formula I (where R is a 10-22C alkyl or the like; R' is H, a 1-4C alkyl or the like; R" is -CH2 -O-CH2 - or the like) is added at 0.5 to 10 wt.% and the nonionic surfactant at 1 to 30 wt.% thereto. The foam suppressant is extremely suitable for foam suppression and prevention of foam formation in an aq. system liable to foaming and deaeration.
