Abstract (en)

In the case of axial blades of axial flow turbo-machines, vibrations are damped in that a hollow body (5) with a large internal surface is arranged in the region of large vibration movements, i.e. mainly in the region of the free blade ends, which hollow body (5) contains a damping medium (9). In the case of blades with covering strips, the hollow body is provided in the region of the covering strip. As a result of the movement of the damping medium, which continuously acts against any acceleration, with respect to the movement of the hollow body, damping of the vibration of the blades is achieved which cannot be achieved by the material damping itself or by frictional damping, taking into account tolerable wear. <IMAGE>

Abstract (de)

Bei Axialschaufeln axial durchströmter Turbomaschinen werden Schwingungen dadurch gedämpft, daß ein Hohlkörper (5) mit einer großen inneren Oberfläche im Bereich großer Schwingbewegungen, d.h. hauptsächlich im Bereich der freien Schaufelenden angeordnet ist, der ein Dämpfungsmedium (9) enthält. Bei Schaufeln mit Deckbändern ist der Hohlkörper im Bereich des Deckbandes vorgesehen. Durch die stets einer Beschleunigung entgegenwirkende Bewegung des Dämpfungsmediums zur Bewegung des Hohlkörpers wird eine Dämpfung der Schwingung der Schaufeln erzielt, die von der Werkstoffdämpfung selbst oder auch Reibungsdämpfung mit Rücksicht auf einen tolerierbaren Verschleiß nicht erreicht werden kann.
