[origin: EP0335339A1] The base course finisher (10) comprises a finisher frame (12) with running gear (14), at least one vibrating plate (24) or beam (22), a retaining frame (20) held on the finisher frame (12), for the vibrating plate (24) or beam (22), of which there is at least one, and a levelling device for changing the position of the retaining frame (20) with respect to the finisher frame (12). It is proposed that the vibrating plate (24) or beam (22) be arranged in front of the running gear (14) in the region of the front end, as seen in travelling direction (A), of the finisher frame (12) and that the retaining frame (20) on the finisher frame (12) be mounted, via a lever arrangement, in an essentially rigid manner, but in such a way as to be selectively adjustable in height and inclination by means of the levelling device.
