A shipping container for plants with root clumps has a bag (4), made of shrinkable film, which accommodates the root clump. In the region between the plant shoots (1) and the root clump (2), the bag (4) is provided with a shrink closure (5) which is wrapped tightly around said region after a locally restricted shrink process.

Ein Versandbehälter für Pflanzen mit Wurzelballen hat einen den Wurzelballen aufnehmenden Beutel (4) aus schrumpffähiger Folie. Der Beutel (4) ist im Bereich zwischen den Pflanzentrieben (1) und dem Wurzelballen (2) mit einem diesen Bereich nach einem örtlich begrenzten Schrumpfprozeß eng umhüllenden Schrumpfverschluß (5) versehen.
