[origin: WO8803189A1] A refiner, preferably a disc or conical refiner, with two opposed, closely spaced bodies of which at least one, the so-called rotor (2), rotates and which are provided with blades (4, 8; 5, 9), the material to be refined being ground in the grinding gap between them, releasing steam, said matter to be refined being fed into the refiner substantially in the direction of the central axis of the blades. In existing refiners, endeavours have been made to remove steam from the refining process e.g. by making holes in the rotor. However, these holes tend to be blocked, and no finely ground material passes therethrough out from the process. With the aid of the present invention the problems have been eliminated in that the grinding gap contains a sorting zone in which the more completely ground fraction of the material to be refined and part of the steam separate from the less completely ground fraction.

Raffineur, de préférence conique ou à disques, comprenant deux corps opposés étroitement espacés, dont l'un au moins, à savoir le rotor (2), tourne et qui sont pourvus d'aubes (4, 8; 5, 9). Le matériau à raffiner est broyé dans l'espace de broyage formé entre les aubes, libère de la vapeur et est acheminé dans le raffineur essentiellement dans le sens de l'axe central des aubes. Dans les raffineurs existants, des efforts constants ont été faits pour éliminer la vapeur du processus de raffinage, par exemple en pratiquant des trous dans le rotor. Cependant, ces trous ont tendance à s'obstruer et ne laissent passer à travers eux par ce procédé aucun matériau finement broyé. Grâce à la présente invention, ces problèmes sont résolus par le fait que l'espace de broyage comporte une zone de tri, dans laquelle la partie du matériau à raffiner dont le broyage est le plus complet et une partie de la vapeur sont séparées de la partie du matériau dont le broyage est moins complet.
