[origin: EP0336062A2] The insertion machine is provided with pockets (3) which are arranged at regular intervals and can be moved along a continuous path (1, 2), along which are successfully arranged a main product insert (4), at least one supplement-inserting station (6) and a removal station (7). Means are also provided to open printed products (31) in the pockets (3), upstream of the supplement-inserting station (6). To make it possible for the machine to be reset rapidly for a new main product irrespective of the size of the machine, such means are arranged to run synchronously with the pockets (3) along a section of the continuous path (1, 2) upstream of each inserting station (6). <IMAGE>
