[origin: EP0336158A2] In an immersion casting pipe (2) for introducing molten metal, in particular molten steel, into a strip casting mould, the molten metal is passed under the surface (S) of the metal strip in the mould through lateral outflow openings pointing in the direction of the narrow side walls. <??>To improve the conditions of pouring into the metal-strip casting mould with a widened pouring region (7), there are two outer and one central outflow opening (12, 10 and 11, 13 respectively) on each side of the immersion casting pipe (2), the said openings being configured in such a way that jets (c, d) of casting metal rising at an acute angle to the setpoint liquid metal level (S) emerge from the lateral outflow openings (12, 13) and jets (b, a) of casting metal parallel to the liquid level or falling at an acute angle emerge from the central outflow opening (10, 11). <IMAGE>
