In a process for producing a protective and/or decorative coating, which can be removed if necessary, on a substrate with a smooth surface, (A) the substrate is thoroughly cleaned; (B) a coating composition containing organic solvents and at least one cellulose derivative as a binder is applied to the cleaned substrate, the coating having a dry film thickness of 40 to 85 mu m, preferably 50 to 70 mu m; (C) when the coating applied in step (B) is sufficiently dry, a second coating composition containing organic solvents is applied, the total quantity of all the organic solvents present in the second coating material at the processing viscosity being equal to at least 80 % by weight of (cyclo)aliphatic and/or aromatic hydrocarbons; and (D) the second coating composition is dried.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer bei Bedarf wieder entfernbaren schützenden und/oder dekorativen Beschichtung auf einem Substrat mit glatter Oberfläche, bei dem (A) das Substrat gründlich gereinigt wird und (B) auf das gereinigte Substrat eine organische Lösemittel enthaltende Beschichtungszusammensetzung, die mindestens ein Cellulosederivat als Bindemittel enthält, aufgebracht wird. Die Erfindung ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die in Stufe (B) aufgebrachte Beschichtung eine Trockenfilmdicke von 40 bis 85 µm, vorzugsweise von 50 bis 70 µm aufweist und daß auf die in Stufe (B) aufgebrachte ausreichend getrocknete Beschichtung (C) eine zweite organische Lösemittel enthaltende Beschichtungszusammensetzung aufgebracht wird, wobei die Gesamtmenge aller in der zweiten Beschichtungszusammensetzung bei Verarbeitungsviskosität enthaltenen organischen Lösemittel zu mindestens 80 Gew.-% aus (cyclo) aliphatischen und/oder aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen besteht und (D) die zweite Beschichtungszusammensetzung getrocknet wird.
