Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0336217A2] The pressure roller possesses a cylindrical sleeve (1) which is fastened by means of a middle portion to a middle portion (3a) of a roller core. On each of the two sides of the middle portion (3a), the roller core has a respective end portion (3b) which extends as far as the end of the sleeve (1). The diameter of the end portions (3b) is smaller than the inside diameter of the sleeve (1). If the diameter of the pressure roller is relatively small in relation to its length, the roller core (3a, 3b) sags when high pressure forces are exerted on its axle journals (3c). However, the sleeve (1) at the same time remains essentially straight. The pressure roller can therefore exert an essentially uniform linear pressure even under high pressure forces. <IMAGE>
