Ein Schalenmesser zur Montage an einen Deckel einer Karde in einer quer zur Kardierrichtung und dieser entgegengesetzt geneigten Lage zeichnet sich dadurch aus, daß für das Schalenmesser ein Stahlprofil (12) vorgesehen ist, das in einem ebenfalls als Profil ausgebildeten und am Deckel (20) befestigbaren Support (10) durch permanente plastische Verformung dieses Supports formschlüssig und schlupffrei gehalten ist, wobei die Längsrichtung des Supportprofils (10) ebenfalls quer zur Kardierrichtung (K) liegt.
