Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0336885A2] In order to protect rooms against hold-ups or the like, a drop-net (11) is provided which drops from the ceiling (3) and, after being released, falls on the persons present in the room. As a result, these persons become virtually incapable of action and are unable to escape. <??>The stock (11a) of drawstrings (13), which are connected to the drop-net (11), is held in gathered form in the interspaces (4) between ceiling elements. A pivotable retaining member (5) serves to achieve this. For release, this retaining member (5) is in active contact with an electromagnet (7). During the release operation, the drop-net (11) falls abruptly downwards and covers the persons present in this room. <??>In order to raise the drop-net (11), lifting rollers (18) are provided, in the space above the ceiling elements (3), for the drawstrings, and the drop-net can be pulled upwards by means of these. <IMAGE>
