Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0337168A1] The invention relates to a labelling station for articles, in particular bottles, comprising a number of stations arranged one behind the other along a path, namely a gluing roller 15, a label box 16 and a label-transfer cylinder 18 and at least one removal element which is mounted rotatably on a rotating support 1, the curved surface of this removal element for receiving the label rolling along the individual stations in the course of the rotation of the support. The drive of each removal element 2 consists of a cam mechanism. The cam mechanism comprises two superposed outer cams which have the basic shape of ovals indented on both longitudinal sides and are arranged crosswise with respect to one another, and followers 26 to 29 which are in engagement with said outer cams 32,33. The followers 26-29 are offset relative to one another about an angle which is not equal to 90 DEG and have lever arms of different lengths. The angular offset of the followers 26-29 and the lever arms thereof is chosen in such a way that at least some followers 26-29 are offset relative to one another about such an angle alpha which is not equal to 90 DEG and the lever arms differ in length to such an extent that the followers 26-29 lie with their axes inside the polhode of the cam mechanism and at least one follower having a long lever arm 26-29 lies outside said polhode. The geometry is particularly chosen so that two followers 26,29 having large lever arms or two followers 27,28 having small lever arms and one follower having a large lever arm 26,29 are in engagement with the cams 32,33. In this manner, a compact cam mechanism is obtained in which the engagement ratios are optimised while taking into account the loadings occurring due to the different accelerations. <IMAGE>
