[origin: EP0337512A2] The invention relates to a ski brake (1), having a housing (2), in which a pedal (3) is mounted on an axle (4), to which pedal two brake arms (5) are linked. An erecting spring (6) for the pedal (5) is provided in the housing (2). Longitudinal slots (2a) are recessed in the longitudinal side walls of the housing (2) for guiding the portions (5c) of the brake arms (5) serving as swivel axle. In order to allow the brake paddles, seated on the brake arms, to be withdrawn in a simple manner in this ski brake in the travelling position, provision is made for the longitudinal side walls of the housing (2) to extend in a convex manner, for each brake arm (5) to be supported on the longitudinal side wall with a stop (8), and for the two brake arms to be loaded by a further spring (7). <IMAGE>
