According to the invention, the different food preparations or products are placed in flexible envelopes (12, 13, 14), the said envelopes are vacuum-sealed before submitting the foodstuffs to at least part of their preparation (cooking and/or sterilisation), then flexible envelopes containing different products are inserted in a single rigid overall package (16), preferably metallic, and this overall package is closed while preferably substantially eliminating all traces of oxygen.
