Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0338255A1] Large-volume boxes are usually produced in such a way that prefabricated box sleeves (10) folded flat are introduced into the packaging machine, erected in the latter, filled over the open sides and are closed by the folding of folding tabs (13, 14). <??>To introduce inserts (15) into the box, or into the open box sleeve (10), insert units (16, 17) are arranged on both sides of the path movement of the box sleeve (10) in the packaging machine, each unit having an insert dispenser (19) which successively removes inserts (15) from a magazine (18) and guides them into an upright position by downward movement or swivelling and into the laterally open box sleeve (10) by transverse movement. The insert dispenser (19) is moved synchronously with the packaging machine by means of a linked actuating system (22) comprising two double levers (23, 24). The box sleeve (10) has at least on one side (11) two pairs of folding tabs (13, 14 and 41, 42). After the insert (15) has been introduced, the inner, short folding tabs (41, 42) are first closed. Then, the outer folding tabs (13, 14) are folded round, and at the same time the insert holder (20) is released from the insert (15) and moved out of the region of the side (11). <??>By virtue of the configuration of the insert units (16, 17) as mechanical components, said units are reliable and precise and simple in terms of manufacture. The process ensures reliable introduction of the insert (15). <IMAGE>
