[origin: US4940886A] In an electric hotplate (1) a hotplate body (2) is constructed in such a way that a holding element (25) provided to fix the hotplate in a hob and arranged below the hotplate can be located in a relatively small distance from the top-side respective the cooking surface (3) of the hotplate body (2). Thereby a very flat mounting arrangement is possible. For example an outer flange rim (6) of the hotplate body (2) can have a groove-like reception depression (30) for an engagement of the holding element (25), this engagement also serving a rotation prevention. It is also possible to construct the outer flange rim extremely low, e.g. in such a way that its lower edge face is located higher than the lower edge face of a central stud of the hotplate body.

Bei einer Elektro-Kochplatte (1) ist der Kochplattenkörper (2) so ausgebildet, daß ein der Befestigung in einer Herdmulde dienendes, unterhalb der Kochplatte liegendes Halteelement (25) in verhältnismäßig geringem Abstand von der Oberseite bzw. Kochfläche (3) des Kochplattenkörpers (2) liegen kann, wodurch ein sehr flacher Einbau möglich wird. Z.B. kann im äußeren Flanschrand (6) des Kochplattenkörpers (2) eine nutartige Aufnahmevertiefung (30) für den auch der Verdrehsicherung dienenden Eingriff des Halteelementes (25) vorgesehen sein. Es ist aber auch denkbar, den äußeren Flanschrand sehr niedrig, z.B. so auszubilden, daß seine untere Stirnfläche höher als diejenige eines Mittelzapfens des Kochplattenkörpers liegt.
