[origin: EP0338461A2] Method of making a panel-like, sound-absorbing element and panel-like, sound-absorbing element. Panel-like, sound-absorbing elements must satisfy both visual and acoustic requirements and are to be capable of being made as simply and inexpensively as possible. According to the invention, regarding the method a ribbon-like, nonwoven-type material is used to produce an endless tube, the tube is divided into tube sections (2) of predetermined length and the tube sections (2) are joined together with their circumferential surfaces (3) parallel to one another to form the panel-like element (1). The panel-like, sound-absorbing element possesses, according to the invention, a plurality of tube portions (2) made of a nonwoven-type material, which are arranged parallel to one another and joined together in the region of their circumferential surfaces (3). The invention can be used in all types of sound-absorbing elements. <IMAGE>
