In order, on the one hand, to achieve a container which can be manufactured simply and safely and is also, if appropriate, pressure-resistant, said container is of cylindrical design and is closed by upper and lower parts constructed as dished ends. To achieve the stackability and, if appropriate, for the mechanical protection of the container against forces acting from the outside, the corner regions of the pallet accommodating the container are connected in each case to a vertically arranged strut, whose free ends extending beyond the container are connected at least in pairs by cross-beams and have stacking rods pointing freely upwards, while the pallets are fitted with retaining plates supported with positive fit on such stacking rods.
