Abstract (en)
The invention relates to the automation of garment making, in particular the feeding of an installation with two sewing stations, for example with the edge of the two leg indentations of briefs. It involves, at the first station (3), positioning the part of the piece (1) corresponding to the angle of incidence of the sewing along a retractable stop (14) having the form of said angle of incidence, then automatically carrying out the following sequences: a. lowering of a transfer pad (18) onto the piece (1) in the vicinity of the stop (14), said pad (18) having such a shape that, once applied to the piece (1), it leaves free the part (21) of the latter intended to be introduced, during the feed, under the pressfoot (7) of the sewing machine (6), b. retraction of the stop (14), c. displacement of the pad (18), driving the piece (1) by sliding on the working surface (9), into the vicinity of the pressfoot (7), in such a way that the part (21) of the piece left free by the pad (18) is under the raised pressfoot (7) of the sewing machine (6), d. lowering of the pressfoot (7), e. raising of the pad (18), f. displacement of the raised pad (18) as far as the first station (3) level with the stop (14), the latter having been returned to its position during any one of the last four sequences (c to f). <IMAGE>
