In a switchgear (1) for the variable power operation of a heating applicance (2) or the like, with the aid of a control device (8) operating in a pulsed manner, the operating element (11) is designed such that it switches off a control heater (10) of the control device (8) not only in the switched-off position but also in higher adjustment regions and in the highest adjustment region (16) and does not switch on until lower adjustment regions (17, 18) are reached and in the event of manual switching over of the switchgear (1) from the highest adjustment region (16) to a lower adjustment region (17, 18), the pulsing cycle is forced to start with a switched-on position of the energy switching contact (6). In consequence, the switchgear (1) is especially suitable for the operation of low capacitance heating appliances, such as microwave appliances, and can be produced simply by redesigning a cam disc (13) of the operating element (11) of previous switchgears. <IMAGE>

Bei einem Schaltgerät (1) zum leistungsveränderbaren Betrieb eines Wärmegerätes (2) oder dgl. mit Hilfe einer taktend arbeitenden Steuervorrichtung (8) ist das Betätigungsglied (11) so ausgebildet, daß es eine Steuerbeheizung (10) der Steuervorrichtung (8) nicht nur in der Abschaltstellung, sondern auch in höheren Einstellbereichen bzw. im höchsten Einstellbereich (16) abschaltet und erst in niedrigeren Einstellbereichen (17, 18) einschaltet und bei manuellem Umstellen des Schaltgerätes (1) vom höchsten Einstellbereich (16) auf einen niedrigeren Einstellbereich (17, 18) der taktende Zyklus zwangsläufig mit einer Einschaltstellung des Energie-Schaltkontaktes (6) beginnt. Dadurch ist das Schaltgerät (1) insbesondere zum Betrieb kapazitätsarmer Wärmegeräte, wie Microwellengeräte, geeignet und lediglich durch Umgestaltung einer Nockenscheibe (13) des Betätigungsgliedes (11) bisheriger Schaltgeräte herstellbar.
