[origin: EP0339283A2] The containers (1) are closed at the top by a removable lid (2), which is pressed by tensioning levers (3) against a seal, and have in the lower region a funnel (5) which merges into an outlet pipe. The latter is guided out in an arc shape to restrict the construction height. In the known containers, the difficulty occurs that the cleaning, especially of the funnel-shaped region, is complicated after emptying and the lid retainers are unreliable in rough transport and at risk of causing injury. A good handling of a container (1) for viscous substances can be achieved in that the outlet pipe is detachably connected to the funnel (5) by means of a flange (9, 10) in each case and bolts. In respect of the lid attachment, the good handling is achieved in that the lid has a peripheral seal in its edge region and a vertical peripheral flange which surrounds the upper edge of the container (1) with spacing and in which several slots (18) are present in the lid flange, in which slots the retaining claws (19), connected to the tensioning levers (3), engage. <IMAGE>
