[origin: EP0339362A2] In a leather stretching device 10 for leather stretching frames, which has a holder 11 with at least one guide device 12 for an adjustment movement of the holder 11 on an associated guide member 14 of the frame, a clamping device 16 with jaws 17, 18, 34 for the leather edge region, and a brake device 41 which acts upon the guide member 14 of the frame, there is provided, to improve the service life and the removal of wear phenomena, an adjusting device 40 for the brake device 41, which is accessible from the outside and is arranged in a separate section 39 of the holder 11. The brake device has an adjustable brake lever 47 which can be replaced without removing the leather stretching device 10 from the leather stretching frame. <IMAGE>
