Abstract (en)
The process is characterised in that the pelts are pretreated with 0.5 to 2% by weight, preferably 0.7 to 1.2% by weight, of an aldehyde- or ketocarboxylic acid prior to tanning and are tanned in the customary manner, and tanning is then completed with 2 to 4.5% by weight of a mixture of chromium(III) salts, acid acceptors and aromatic di- or tricarboxylic acids or salts thereof.

Verfahren zur Chromspargerbung, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man die Blößen vor der Gerbung mit 0,5 bis 2 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise 0,7 bis 1,2 Gew. % einer Aldehyd- oder Ketocarbonsäure vorbehandelt, in üblicher Weise gerbt und anschließend mit 2 bis 4,5 Gew.-% einer Mischung aus Chrom(III)-Salzen, säurebindenden Mitteln und aromatischen Dui- oder Tricarbonsäuren oder deren Salzen ausgerbt.
