Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0339499A2] The operation of a burner plate (1), passed through by mixture outlet openings (2), of a panel-burner, in particular radiation burner, is supervised by means of at least one electrode (3) which measures the ionisation in the flame region. In order to ensure that a burner flame which is usable for ionisation measurement is available to this electrode (3), a limited region (4) of the burner plate (1) is assigned to it, in which the burner flames are dimensioned with a greater length than in the remaining region of the burner plate (1). Longer burner flames in this region (4) can be achieved by dimensioning the mixture outlet openings (5) of this region (4) smaller than the remaining mixture outlet openings (2) of the burner plate (1) or by dimensioning the air proportion of the mixture supplied to the burner plate (1) in this region (4) smaller than in the remaining region of the burner plate (1). <IMAGE>
