Abstract (en)

A granular detergent composition or component therefor, which is preferably free of phosphate builders, has a bulk density of at least 650 g/litre and comprises from 17 to 35 wt% of non-soap detergent-active material (consisting at least partially of anionic detergent-active material) and from 28 to 45 wt% (anhydrous basis) of crystalline or amorphous sodium aluminosilicate, the weight ratio of (b) to (a) being from 0.9:1 to 2.6:1. The particle porosity is preferably less than 0.20. The composition may be prepared by granulation and densification in a high-speed mixer/granulator.
