The invention relates to a safe comprising a cupboard (1) equipped at the front with a door (6) normally closed by means of a bolt (40) released by at least one electromagnet (39) made live under the effect of a door-opening means (38, 49, 50, 53), and a rear back (3) opposite the door. <??>The invention is characterised in that it comprises, arranged inside the cupboard (1) on an intermediate plate (16) parallel to, but separated from the back of this cupboard, at least one receiving housing (29) for at least one protected access means (30) or another similar article which can be removed from its housing only after the opening of the door and the release of a flap (31) protecting said access means, the intermediate plate (16) supporting members (23, 24, 25, 26) for checking and counting the movements of the access means in relation to its housing and for verifying predetermined parameters capable of allowing the retraction of this means and then of monitoring its correct return before the closing of the door. <IMAGE>
