1. Capping for fixing to a post having a rectangular hollow profile, the capping being adapted to mount lattice fencing and being of sheet material with an overhang beyond the post on the fencing side, characterised in that the cover (31) of a cap (3) matched to the width (B) of the post (1) has a greater depth (T) than that of the post (1), the front-side face of the cap (3) bordering the overhang beyond the post (1) is absent, the free ends of the side wall portions (32, 33) adjacent to the absent front face are each provided with a recess (321 and 331) bounded on one side by the overhang and extending back to the post and arranged to receive the horizontal elements (21) of the lattice, and the remaining protuberant portions of the side wall portions (32, 33) are slit to the depth of the overhang to form tongues (322, 323 and 332, 333).
